Playwrights,

Thank you all for giving us the opportunity to read your submissions. It is inspiring to know that so much talent is out there creating during these troubled times.

We received 70 submissions for Summerplay this year (a record for our annual festival). We are still making decisions, so, at this time, all plays submitted are still in contention. We appreciate your patience while we determine which scripts to produce and will let everyone know as soon as we can. Part of our difficulty has come from the reality that our venue for Series I has fallen through due to their limited budget this year, so we are looking for other venues. We hope to have everything settled soon, and appreciate your continued patience as we continue our preparations. We still hope to produce a Series I and Series II of Summerplay, but are considering the possibility of making the Series II a "late night" event so that we may approach other local theatres for use of their space following their regular performances. We will keep you updated as we have more information.

We thank you again for your talent and patience!

Sincerely,
Pavlina Morris
Artistic Director

The Changing Scene Theatre Northwest in Bremerton, WA is accepting unproduced One-Act scripts for Summerplay 2010: A Festival of New Works. The deadline is June 1. Plays should be no longer than 30 minutes in length--the shorter the better. There will be two series of Summerplay this year. Series One will be presented in Evergreen Park in Bremerton. The shows included in Series One will need to be family friendly in both content and language. Series Two will be presented in various venues throughout the area (exact locations still to be determined.) The shows included in Series Two will have no content or language restrictions. Please note that plays with fewer characters and minimal sets will be more likely selected due to the portable nature of Summerplay this year, although all material will be considered.

Electronic submissions preferred in either .pdf or .doc format: changingscenenorthwest@hotmail.com.

For hard-copy submissions, send scripts to our mailing address: The Changing Scene Theatre Northwest, 3711 Cartier Dr., Bremerton, WA 98312. Please send a SASE if you want your script returned after the selection process. For more information call (360)813-1820.
